So we are not entirely sapiens. There is a residue from our monkey days: our lizard brain. It makes us irrational, incomprehensible (without it, this blog would not even exist!). We try to figure it all out using the rest of our brain. But we have not fully discovered how our brain works (even though some great scientists are working on that. Hardly. Trust me.) so how can we use a tool we have not fully mastered to comprehend a part of us that does not even succumb to our reason and rules. Well, until we figure it all out how about we begin by accepting it. There is literature out there about silencing the lizard brain. But it is part of us. Yes it’s embarrassing we have a monkey residue to (partly) guide our actions, decisions, perceptions and feelings instead of a high tech super developed brain that we would be proud of. However, especially at the dawn of some other form of intelligence (artificial, non organic, name it what you prefer), perhaps accepting our true nature will shield us from anyone with the intelligence to manipulate us. And even if not that, we might just smile more … Please help me make sense of this one too…
